Questions we hear from ops teams
Do we have to change surveyors?
No. With Logbook you keep working with the surveyors you already trust. We send them our standard digital form, and they survey exactly as they do today.
What does our surveyor need?
A phone, tablet or laptop with a browser. They receive a link per job, confirm the assignment and complete the form on board. There's no app to install and no account to create.
How do we order a survey?
In the client portal, or by copying ops@globalbqs.com on your bunker confirmation with the name of your surveyor. We take it from there.
Which surveys are covered?
Bunker quantity surveys (BQS), bunker delivery surveys, and on-hire and off-hire surveys covering bunkers, vessel condition or both combined. That's eight types, all on the same standard.
How does billing work?
You pay $99 per Logbook survey. You choose one invoice per survey, or one invoice a month with a statement of account, with your PO or reference on every invoice. There's no subscription. Your surveyor invoices their own fee as usual.
Where can we use GlobalBQS?
Worldwide, in any port where your surveyor can attend. Voyager (from February 2027) adds GlobalBQS-appointed surveyors for ports where you don't have one.
I'm a surveyor. Can I use GlobalBQS for my own clients?
Yes, from January 2027. Your first two surveys are free, and if you register your interest before 1 January 2027 you get one more. Email surveyors@globalbqs.com.
What does the GCS badge mean?
GlobalBQS Certified Surveyor is a free status that a surveyor earns on the data: at least 10 surveys on GlobalBQS in the last 12 months and a rating of 4.0 or higher. It is reviewed every month, so the badge you see is always current.
